Bringing an Idea to Life

People are often given new ideas to bring to fruition, yet many of those ideas won't be born. Why? There are too many factors that can get in the way. Fear, procrastination, thinking your idea may not be good enough, it's too overwhelming, not enough time, etc. When an idea is born within you, it is meant to be explored at the least. Especially, the ideas that you have been wanting to pursue for awhile or the ones that stir up strong emotions for you. Those are the big ones.

What's a good starting point?
1.) Create a map of small milestones and fair timelines. Breaking tasks into small pieces to work with makes things far less daunting. Need guidance on what small milestones and timelines you need to achieve? Find a mentor. There are people that are definitely willing to help. After all, someone helped them get to where they are.
2.) Don't think your idea is good enough? How do you know if you don't try? The worst thing that can happen is you learn something from it, and it may lead to something else. Do your research.
3.) As far as having and finding the time goes, the first step you may need to do is something simple like making an ask to someone. So carve out 15 minutes and write that email to jump start things. 15 minutes is much easier to find than 2 hours to begin with.
4.) Encountering resistance and obstacles? This will happen, but learn to embrace vs. resist them. Every problem has a solution so stay open, and don't get discouraged. You may have to tweak your process up a bit, but it will probably be for the better.

If you put in the work, effort, dedication, and if the intent of what you're doing is authentic, I guarantee you the momentum will start building and things will start progressing. Books or articles that you may need to read start appearing, helpers start coming along the way, or you may hear about a meetup and something beneficial comes from it.

As Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Big Magic says, "The idea chose you, because it thought you could do it." It's time to get to work.
